Because bus drivers give their full attention to safe driving, the following Teton Stage Lines rules must be followed by students who ride Taylor's Crossing buses.
1. Students Must be courteous and respectful to the bus driver and fellow students, and follow the bus driver's requests.
2. Students must arrive at the bus stop 5 minutes before the bus is scheduled to arrive. The bus will not wait and will not return.
3. Students will wait quietly in a location clear of traffic. All students are required to cross ten (10) feet in front of the bus and only after the signal by the bus driver.
4. Do not jump up to hit or hang on the bus windows, do not run along side or beside the bus, or attempt to hitch a ride via the bumper. Do not throw/pass objects in or out of windows, or around the inside of the bus.
5. Sit in your assigned seat or as directed by the bus driver. Enter and exit in a orderly manner. Do not stand to load/unload until the bus has come to a complete stop.
6. Students must NOT engage in loud talking, noise making, horse playing, fighting, or annoying behaviors. Unnecessary confusion diverts the drivers attention and might result in a serious accident.
7. Students must NOT use profane, obsene, or abusive language. Sexual harassment will NOT be tolerated!
8. Students are NOT allowed to chew gum, eat, or drink on the bus.
9. Students must NOT use tobacco, alcohol, illegal drugs, or other hazardous materials on the bus or have in their possession.
10. Students may carry on items that can be held in their laps. Large, bulky or nuisance items are not permitted. No glass containers, or live animals/insects. Do not bring items of a dangerous, objectable or illegal nature on the bus.
11. Vandalism will NOT BE TOLERATED! Offenders and offender's parents will be financially responsible for repair. Vandalism includes but is not limited to poking holes, tearing of seat tape, writing or marking on seats or any other activity that damages the inside or outside of the bus surface.
12. Students are to remain absolutely quiet at a railroad crossing until the bus is completely accross the tracks and the driver advises that they are clear. District will practice "give me five" for this procedure. All Students will practice this.
13. Students must not extend any part of their bodies out of the bus windows or open an emergency exit unless in an emergency scenario.
14. Students must leave or board the bus at locations to which they have been assigned unless they have written parental and administrative authorization to do otherwise. (Applies to all grades)
15. Do not stand, or face the back of the bus and keep the aisle clear of all objects.
16. Students must sit, back to back, and bottom to bottom at all times while riding the school bus.
17. Students may NOT use cell phones while riding in the school bus.
